Whitney Houston in Rehab Again But Why?

Vocal genius Whitney Houston is back in rehab, but at the moment no one seems to be clear on what is afflicting her. Stories about the new stint are fogging up the web with confusion. Allow me to clear it up. Poor Whitney. She has had a really rocky time in the last several years. Fans watched as she degraded from the greatest singer alive to a drug addicted domestic violence victim. It was hard to believe that things could turn South so quickly for her, especially after all of her success. Now, nearly two years after her lukewarm comeback, she has voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation program. At first, multiple outlets were unable to confirm exactly why she was in rehab again, but her rep finally cleared it up, saying it was for drugs and alcohol. TMZ has the latest on the story. While you’re here, check out some other hot links: Celebuzz has photos showing Justin Bieber snogging with Selena Gomez. Watch: The Glee Version Of Adeles Rolling In The Deep

On tonight’s episode of Glee, Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) duets with Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) on Adele‘s stunningly beautiful song Rolling in the Deep. We are still a few hours away from tonight’s ep of Glee … but if you just can’t wait any longer, you can check out video from tonight’s ep of [...]

So these cold-like symptoms that I picked up over the weekend have been kicking my butt a bit. I wouldn’t say I’m really “sick” per se but I have been feeling kinda crappy for the past couple of days. Sore throat, runny/stuffy nose and some body aches … you know, the usual. I ended up staying home all day yesterday which actually turned out to be a great idea because I was able to watch a bunch of episodes of the brilliant 90′s teen drama My So-Called Life on Netflix.

Now, I’ve owned My So-Called Life on DVD for years now … but I never got around to watching the show. In fact, I haven’t watched the show since it aired on TV back in 94-95. I had forgotten how amazingly well written the show is and watching the first few eps last night reminded me of what a groundbreaking and important show it truly was. Of course, good shows don’t necessarily mean good ratings and My So-Called Life was canceled way before it should’ve been. My So-Called Life featured an openly gay teen character (Ricky, played by Wilson Cruz) YEARS before anyone else and it really told stories that were really real. The writing is the best thing about the show, yes, but the acting performances by the young cast (Claire Danes, Jared Leto, etc) is also really remarkable. I know that some of you young’ns out there have never seen or even heard of My So-Called Life … but for those of you who do remember the show, I urge you to take another look. It deffo holds up as a great show. I may not have been feeling all that well last night but at least I was able to enjoy my evening with the My So-Called Life kids ;)

No plans for tonight … I’ll prolly keep recuperating. We’ll see. Happy Tuesday!!

Dion From Clueless Pulls Fit On Set Of Show

Stacey Dash flipped out on the set of the new Queen Latifah-produced show Single Ladies at 2:30am Tuesday morning!
Apparently she stormed off the set yelling and ranting, saying:
"No, I ain't coming back unless that bitch gets her ass kicked!"
Which is, we don't really have to tell you, pretty much the classiest thing to say on [...]

jersey-shore-house-in-italy.jpg

Here it is!

Nestled on this quiet street in Florence, where ladies leisurely stroll pass and children play, is the town house that will soon be invaded by the guidos and guidettes from The Jersey Shore!

And the city will never be the same!

What you've got here is the exterior of the building where the cast will live while they film the fourth season. Whether we ever see the interior of the place is entirely up to the city of Florence. Until they give MTV the right permits, ain'ts no guidos going nowhere they're not supposeda !

Celebrity Couple of the Week: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Our Celebrity Couple of the Week are none other than Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon! The two were talked about quite a bit this week, as dem babies came into the world last Saturday, on the same day they celebrated their wedding anniversary. Then, we waited patiently for the announcement revealing their twins’ names, which was finally announced on May 4th. What a whirlwind week it’s been for both! Here’s a little history lesson on this celebrity couple… They first met when he made a cameo appearance in her video, ‘Bye, Bye’, in early 2008. They wed on April 30th, 2008 at her estate in the Bahamas and news of their nuptials was a surprise to many, as they reportedly had only been dating for two months. Rumors and speculation abound that their wedding was simply a publicity stunt, but we all know now that was not the case. It was revealed later that Mariah had miscarried shortly after she and Nick wed. It was widely known how much Mariah wanted to have children. Finally, in October of 2010, after several months of rumors circulating, it was confirmed that she was indeed pregnant and the two were expecting in the [...]

Jacob Lusk Sent Packing on American Idol

We say goodbye to Jacob Lusk tonight, as he was the latest contestant on American Idol to get voted off the show. It really wasn’t a surprise since many, myself included, have felt that in recent weeks he just has not impressed as much as he did at the beginning of the season. No doubt he will probably secure some sort of gospel/R&B recording contract though, so no worries all you Jacob fans! In addition to finding out just who would be sent home, we saw AI judge Jennifer Lopez perform her hit ‘On The Floor’, (which Mamacita rocked of course) and heard Lady Antebellum’s latest single, ‘Just a Kiss’ — another sweet ballad. So here’s how it went down…We first saw James Durbin asked by Ryan to stand at the far right side of the stage. He had great performances last night with his take on ‘Closer to the Edge’ by 30 Seconds to Mars and the very emotional ‘Without You’, tears and all. Lauren Alaina was next, who also had solid performances with Carrie Underwood’s ‘Flat on the Floor’ and ‘Unchained Melody’. She was sent to the opposite end of the stage, which left me a bit confused [...]

How The Internet Is Changing The Way We Buy Concert Tickets

Many parents often wonder about when is the right age for their children to start taking guitar lessons. Unlike with other musical instruments, such as the piano, flute or violin, the guitar is a bigger instrument and so you need to take this into account. Most schools tend to have guitar lessons for children once they have reached the age of 7 or thereabouts.

Theater Review: God Of Carnage

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good [...]

So … I had a very long night/morning today … and am alive and functioning to tell the tale. As I mentioned yesterday, last night David and I attended the 8pm performance of the stage play God of Carnage and then I attended a 2AM concert performance by Prince in the intimate Foundation Room at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. I’ll post my review of God of Carnage shortly but the Prince show, man, what an incredible night.

As many of you are well aware by now, I’ve been seeing Prince a LOT in concert here in LA over the past few weeks including a couple of very intimate shows at The Troubadour a couple of weeks ago. Last night’s House of Blues show in the Foundation Room was truly the most intimate show possible … arm’s length … I was arm’s legnth from Prince for most of the night (except for the times when he stepped away to play bass or jam in front of his speaker). The show was a 2 1/2 hour jam session … I was literally in awe the entire time. Even in high heel shoes, Prince only came up to my nose … that is how short he is … so I am very glad that I managed to get right up in front of him to watch the show. Even 3 people back and I would not have been able to see him at all. The Foundation Room is the size of a large living room … and I am not exaggerating at all. Because there was no elevated stage, most people in the room couldn’t even see Prince at all. I’m not sure what the experience was like for those people but I know that I will never, EVER see him in a more intimate place. It was truly a night/morning to remember. I rolled home hearing the early birds chirping … it was a spectacular night.

Tonight, I’m heading out to see another concert … this time, Stevie Nicks! She is playing The Wiltern on her birthday tonight … and I am so excited. I’ve always wanted to see her live and almost saw her a few weeks ago but she was touring with Rod Stewart and there was no way in HELL I was gonna sit thru a Rod Stewart show. I’m gonna need a nap this afternoon but, yeah, I’m really lookin’ forward to Stevie!!

Homemade Jewerly Creating The Right Ensemble

Subliminal pertains to below the threshold of consciousness. Stimuli that slide below this threshold with consciousness are stimuli which, while not consciously recognized, may influence judgment, attitude, and behavior on a great unconscious level. Subliminal influences have got a similar purpose as hypnosis because they attempt to reach the subconscious to support effect desired change when used in a positive manner.

Earlier today we learned that the 90′s music video show Pop-Up Video is returning to VH1 this Summer but right now I want to take you back a little further. The Hub is bringing back the 80′s animated TV series Jem and the Holograms this weekend with a marathon airing of the show’s first 6 [...]

Yesterday we saw an amazing poster of Harry Potter from the upcoming, absolutely FINAL HP film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 and today we get to see the Hermione Granger poster for the film. Much like the Harry poster, this new poster of Hermione features a concerned and battle-weary expression. Check out the poster in full below.

Hermione rules. I have to admit … she is my favorite character of the Harry Potter bunch. Yes, Harry is the star but Hermione‘s cleverness and intelligence is really the most appealing thing for me about these characters. She may be the brains of the operation but she’s also the heart. I love this poster. I love Hermione ;D

REPORT: Ronnie Magro Gives The Situation An Italian Smack Down

As if we couldn’t be anymore hyped about Jersey Shore Italy. Now we’re learning that Ronnie Magro might have laid the smack down on The Situation over an argument about Sammi. Pictures of a banged up Mike are circulating the web today along with a few that show Ronnie with scraped up knuckles. Sources claim that a dispute over Sammi was at the center of the melee, but so far nothing has been confirmed. For all we know a grenade could have misfired on Mike. Maybe he got her in some of his official pajamas, walked her into the bedroom, but didn’t exactly have a happy ending. His face does look pretty scratched. Ronnie is known for punching walls and destroying things. Maybe he argued with Sammi himself, and learned the hard way that buildings are most likely constructed a little sturdier in ‘ole Italy. Either way, speculation has it that the sometimes-violent Ronnie opened up a can on Mike. If you have followed the show in the fiendish manner that we have, you know that Mike has been poking his overly tanned nose into Ronnie and Sam’s business from day one. He even tried to hook-up with Sammi early [...]

Review: Foo Fighters Wasting Light

The folk rock genre was built on the extraordinary songwriting of Bob Dylan and the ground breaking representations of the "The Byrds." In the years that followed, a legion of songwriters, bands, and artists, continued to grow this dynamic genre into the vibrant musical art form that it remains today.

Carribean Rhapsody by James Carter: CD Review

If you don't like the Foo Fighters, you're really not going to like them by the end of the year. "Wasting Light" is one of their superior releases and should prove itself by staying on the radio and album charts for 2011. Their current tour dismantles every pre-conceived negative thought one might have had about their music. Always notorious for having stellar opening acts, they pulled no punches by adding Motorhead and Scotland's own Biffy Clyro to the bill.

The Longstanding Appeal of Superheroes

Reading scripts can be a great way for aspiring writers to get a good sense of story and character. Providing analyses of other writer's scripts can help and reader know what studios and production companies are looking for in scripts, which can only serve to strengthen their own projects. To earn extra money on the side of assistant duties, I frequently dove into script reading for various production companies and agencies.

The Astounding Durability Of The Rolling Stones

Many people enjoy creating art. This can be for various reasons such as for a job or just simply for fun. Music is one of the many outlets that people use as a source of income and as a source of enjoyment. However, a problem arises when people try to create music themselves because there is often a great deal of equipment and skill needed to even create a single track.

Most musicians that are serious piano players want to get the most out of an instrument so going for an 88 key midi controller is the obvious choice. It's not the number of keys that will dramatically increase the price of the keyboard anyway. It will more likely be the feature laden ones that are the more expensive ones.

A Man Can Be Destroyed But Can Not Be Defeated

There are many great uses for clay beads but one of the best is using them as party favors. This may seem a little out of the ordinary, and maybe it is, but trust me this is a wonderful idea. For your friends who are beaders this will be a great blessing as they will have more inventory to work with. For your friends who have not yet delved into this realm of arts and crafts it will still be great as it might be the catalyst for them to get started. In this article I will discuss exactly how you can use these wonderful little creations to spice up your next party and give your guests something that they will remember for years to come.

Oooh, Johnny Depp, your talent and mad good looks never cease to amaze us.

Couple that with the brilliant idea that Hunter S. Thompson had and you get The Rum Diary!

We're really excited about seeing this, and no, it's NOT just because of Johnny Depp, although that's a definite plusPLUSplus!

Amber Heard is starring too, and we just looove that woman.

Also, it's a story from Hunter S. Thompson! Of course it's going to be crazy fun.

But for now we'll just have to do with the trailer. Have U seen it yet? If not, what are you waiting for? It's right up there! Watch it. now.

Choosing the Right Mobile Disco for Your Event

In the early 1970s a wave of southern rock groups including the Allman Brothers, the Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top, the Charlie Daniels Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd began to break the chart dominance of British Invasion bands. These southern rockers, with their harder edge and deep roots in the blues, were unlike more traditional country rock bands like Poco, the Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of the Purple Sage. The new southern rock anthems were full of macho stereotypes, many involving drinking and fighting.

What You Need To Know About The CMA Awards

The origin of country music can be traced back as far as the 1920's. Many people especially those from outside the USA often think that it is a new music genre due to the rise of young country singers and groups such as Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum who brought the genre back to life and introduced it to the world once again.

The 3 Best Drummers Ever

One of my previous articles begins with "practice is a dirty word". The realization that you'll have to put in the time (in particular, hours) to get the results you want, stop many dead in their tracks before they even set foot near their instrument. It gets all too easy to 'do it later/tomorrow/in the coming days/week' etc. Before you know, what you should and could have done today becomes what you definitely should have done this WEEK, but as yet, you still haven't 'got round to doing'.

Gretsch Guitars Their Early History

That little sign at the beginning of your music is most likely some sort of clef sign. Which one is it? Well, we have two clef signs that are mainly in use today. They are the treble clef and the bass clef. Their job is to indicate the names of the notes on the music staff. I am guessing that what you are seeing is probably one of those.
